calm after the storm

 

Its been far too long! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone. I hope you're all enjoying your holidays so far, I definitely have. My family and I have travelled ever since I was born to an island off the coast of Auckland, New Zealand called Great Barrier and this year was no exception. We left just after Christmas planning to spend time at the beach, soaking up the sun and chatting to old friends. Nothing ever goes to plan, hence why we spent the whole holiday doing the complete opposite. Let's just say Mother Nature wasn't happy and instead of the sunshine there was rain, wind and massive swells. The holiday was still amazing, the island still beautiful and I still grateful. But if I'd have to sum up my trip: playing board games, reading and staring at four walls would be just it. The only thing that did go to plan was that many more memories were made and Great Barrier still holds a very special place in each of our hearts. Enjoy x
